Everything I Wished I Knew When Starting Keto

Everything I Wished I Knew When Starting Keto

LUVV Labs -

So, you’ve decided to live a Keto lifestyle. I'd share a few things that I learned along the way that make transitioning to Keto a bit easier. Living Keto is not that difficult and offers a world of health benefits.

Let's start with all of the foods that are now on your "nice list."

Pretty much any meat, cheese, eggs, non- starchy vegetables, healthy fats, and nuts. These are all in your friendly food group.

Keto is incredibly versatile. The main trick with Keto is you are going to be reprogramming your eating habits, and that takes time. If you are eating a typical American diet, you're used to thinking that your plate needs to have a vegetable, a protein, and a starch (rice, potatoes, or pasta). Keto flips the script a bit. You are going to be substituting those starches with something else. One of my favorites is Cauliflower, and that's because it is such a versatile vegetable. It is incredibly versatile and easily substitutes for rice or potatoes. Keto has become so popular in fact that local supermarkets often offer a large variety of easy to prepare low carb cauliflower dishes.

Ok, so now we have to talk about the naughty list. It's pretty short, so no need to be feel deprived. Most grains should be avoided along with most sugars, especially at the beginning, as your body transitions to burning fat for fuel. It's also tremendously beneficial to incorporate Keto drops and Keto Ultra Max to assist your body in transitioning to burning fat for fuel instead of carbs. Some say dairy should be avoided. My experience tells me cheese, heavy cream, and grass-fed butter are perfectly fine. They are filling, comforting, and satiating.

Water, Water, and More Water

Did you know the average person doesn't consume nearly enough water daily? It is really important especially when making the switch to a keto lifestyle to drink lots of water. It's a good idea, according to the Institute of Medicine, to drink between 91 and 125 fluid ounces of water daily. Drinking extra water will help you to avoid or minimize the "keto flu" which primarily comes from your body's need for additional sodium, magnesium, and calcium that it is losing fluid excretion. Luvv's Keto BHB is an excellent and convenient way to be sure you're getting the sodium and magnesium you'll need.

To summarize all that I've learned in the past few years, I would say the two best and most helpful pieces of advice for anyone new to Keto is drink plenty of water and then drink even more. The second-best advice someone shared with me is carbs are a limit, try not to go over your carb limit. Fat is a lever; you don't have to meet your fat macros. It’s simply there to help you get full. And finally, protein is a goal, try your best to reach your protein goal buy not go over. Too much protein can cause your weight loss to stall If you stick to these guidelines before you know it, you will be well on your Keto journey.
